Earlier today, the Toomey campaign released an ad praising his record on gun safety. The ad featured Nancy Grogan, who is identified as a gun violence prevention advocate. While the ad does not identify Ms. Grogan as such, she also serves on the board of CeaseFirePA. However, Ms. Grogan was speaking in the ad only in her individual capacity and not on behalf of CeaseFirePA or CeaseFire Pennsylvania. CeaseFirePA Executive Director made that clear in statements to the press. Moreover, CeaseFire Pennsylvania, the advocacy arm of CeaseFirePA, is now engaged in an evaluation and endorsement process of the candidates for Senate. We hope in the near future to share the results of that process, and the candidates’ responses to our questionnaire, with the public.
